Today, it is possible for the average computer user to create their own brainwave synchronization sounds using a software program called Gnaural - wiki article - example files. Gnaural is both a windows and linux based program.

There are other similiar programs for the linux users in the world. Autozen, for linux, comes to mind.

There may be others that I am unaware of and if you know of any, feel free to mention them here.

If you dabble with this technology, feel free to share with others what you have created.

Another really cool program to try is SbaGen.

A very neat feature of this program is that when installed or uncompressed, it will have the many different "focus levels" that immitate the different focus levels of TMI (The Monroe Institute). These included focus levels are based on the stated binaural beat frequencies in TMI research papers.

Then there is the i-doser program which is not open source but is based on the sbagen program. I really like their sleeping binaural "doses" as they call them.
